Options Chart Reading Fundamentals
A six-week evening cohort for traders who already place options orders but want a repeatable method for reading weekly index charts before selecting strikes.
Request enrollmentWho this cohort is for
You have at least six months of live or simulated options trading. You can pull up a weekly chart on SPX, NDX, or VN30-linked products, but your entries still feel reactive. You want a written process — levels marked before the open, open interest checked, and a defined invalidation point — rather than another indicator stack.
What you will learn
- Candle anatomy on weekly and daily index options charts: body, wick, and gap context
- Drawing support and resistance from prior swing highs, lows, and volume shelves
- Reading open interest changes at strikes near your planned entry
- Matching delta and expiry to the chart timeframe you analyzed
- Building a pre-session checklist you can complete in under fifteen minutes
Weekly structure
Each week includes one three-hour classroom session (Tuesday or Thursday, 6:30–9:30 PM) and one take-home assignment with printed charts. Instructors return marked copies at the next session. Week six is a live chart-reading exam using that week's SPX weekly chart — no computers, pencil and ruler only.
Included and excluded
Included: Printed chart packs, ruler and level-marking templates, access to Chart Lab drop-in hours during the cohort, and a certificate of completion.
Excluded: Brokerage accounts, live trading capital, software subscriptions, and tax or legal advice. We teach chart reading; we do not manage funds or recommend specific trades.
